Iron Mesa started with a simple idea: the contractor on the job should be the same person you shook hands with on day one. Too many builds get handed off - owner sells the project, foreman runs it, finish crew never met anyone - and the quality and communication take the hit. We do it differently.
Gavin Thomas started Iron Mesa Contracting after years in the trades - framing, finish carpentry, and eventually running full custom builds. A veteran first, a builder second, he runs Iron Mesa the way he wishes he'd been able to hire when he was on the other side of the table: small enough to care, organized enough to deliver, and stubborn about quality even when nobody's looking.
Today, Iron Mesa runs a tight crew of trusted trade partners - concrete, framing, finish carpentry, mechanical - most of whom we've worked with for years. We don't chase volume. We take the projects we can run well, finish them honestly, and let the work speak for itself.

We make framing decisions a buyer's inspector will never see. We finish the inside of cabinets the same as the outside. Quality has to hold up two and ten years from now - not just on walkthrough day.

Our home base is in southwest Utah and most of our work happens within roughly a 90-minute drive. If your site is just outside that radius, ask - we'll consider it if the scope and schedule make sense.
